R 172010Z MAR 26 MARADMIN 111/26 MSGID/GENADMIN/CMC WASHINGTON DC MRA MF// SUBJ/INCREASING AWARENESS ON MARINE CORPS CREDENTIALING OPPORTUNITIES ONLINE (COOL)// REF/A/DOC/DOD/20211013// AMPN/REF A DODI 1322.33 DOD CREDENTIALING PROGRAMS.// POC/ALESIA WILLIAMS/NAF4/MFR/EMAIL: [email protected]// POC/DEBORAH CARBONE-MARCONDA/NAF5/MFR/EMAIL: [email protected]// GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  Purpose.  This MARADMIN provides awareness and updated information on the Marine Corps Credentialing Opportunities On-Line (COOL).  Marine Corps COOL serves as the official credentialing resource for all eligible Marines. 2.  Reference (a) establishes the Department of War’s policy for military credentialing programs and requires each Service to provide Service Members with access to standardized, transparent credentialing resources to support professional development and transition readiness.  To meet this requirement, the Marine Corps maintains the COOL program, which identifies civilian certifications aligned with military occupational skills and provides guidance on funding and application procedures based on meeting eligibility requirements. 3.  Marine Corps COOL supports Marines pursuing professional credentials that enhance military performance and prepare them for civilian career opportunities.  Marines can access the program and find detailed guidance, eligibility information, and approved credentials at https://www.cool.osd.mil/usmc/index.html. 4.  Marine Corps COOL is a resource for Marines who want to understand which civilian credentials relate to their Military Occupational Specialty and how to obtain them, as well as those seeking to distinguish themselves through professional growth or strengthen their transition readiness.  It also supports education, career, and transition advisors, including Career Counselors and Voluntary Education Center staff who provide guidance on education, personal and professional development, career requirements, and available opportunities.  In addition, Marine Corps recruiters may use COOL as a credible tool to demonstrate the professional growth and civilian career preparation opportunities available through Marine Corps service. 5.  Marine Corps COOL funding is provided on a first come, first served basis, and opportunities listed on the COOL website are funded according to program eligibility requirements and available funding.  Marine Corps COOL funding is separate from Tuition Assistance. 6.  The Cyberspace Workforce provides funding for officers and government civilians assigned to cyber-coded billets only.
