Hi. After leaving the Marine Corps I embarked on a career as a software engineer. That was going well until about 20% of the company was eliminated. I was part of the 20%. Since then (Summer '24), the hiring market for software engineers has been brutal. Lots of competition. Lots of rejections.
I had suggested, tongue in cheek, that I might actually make a job before I found a job. One day, in the USMC subreddit, I saw someone commenting on MARADMINS and how they could be better. I realized that I could do this. It was the intersection of my technical background and professional context.
About a month later we now have this.
The next big feature I'm working on is paid e-mail notifications. No longer do you have to check a website for new MARADMINs. Instead, you can get an e-mail whenever a new MARADMIN drops.
This will require:The other feature will be filtered e-mail notifications. If you only care about MARADMINS with the words enlisted and recruiting (for example) then you'll only get an e-mail when a MARADMIN with those specific words in it is released.
