J. JONES/MAJ/RAM-5/TEL: 703-784-3676/EMAIL: [email protected]// GENTEXT/REMARKS/1. Purpose. Reserve Affairs (RA) annually conducts Total Force Integration Staff Training (TFIST) Continuum Courses as Professional Military Education (PME) for Active Reserve (AR) officers and senior enlisted Marines. The following are the established FY26 dates for Basic TFIST (B-TFIST), Advanced TFIST (A-TFIST), Enlisted TFIST (E-TFIST), and Senior TFIST (S-TFIST) Symposium. All courses will be conducted at Marine Corps Base Quantico, VA. 2. B-TFIST: Session 1, 21-23 October 2025; Session 2, 24-26 March 2026. The target audience for Basic TFIST is newly accessed AR officers. Marines shall attend only one of the two sessions. 2.a. RA refined the Basic TFIST curriculum in January 2025 to orient newly accessed AR officers to their roles and responsibilities as members of the AR Program. Specifically, this course focuses on the tactical and operational level of reserve integration at the unit or Major Subordinate Command level. This course also provides Marines the opportunity to discuss contemporary Reserve Component (RC) issues with their peers, develop camaraderie, and prepare for successful tours as reserve integrators within the Total Force Marine Corps. 2.b. AR officers on their accession tour are required to complete Basic TFIST to be considered for AR career designation. 3. A-TFIST: 12-14 May 2026. AR officers must have completed B-TFIST to be eligible to attend A-TFIST. 3.a. The purpose of A-TFIST is to further educate field grade AR officers who serve in critical reserve integration billets throughout the Total Force Marine Corps or Department of Defense. 3.b. As AR officers progress within their careers, it is necessary to ensure they receive ongoing, relevant training to support their RC integration roles. This course consists of instruction and material which enable AR officers to succeed in senior assignments such as Reserve Integration Officers, Reserve Liaison Officers, Individual Mobilization Augmentee (IMA) Operational Sponsors, and other billets focused on reserve integration. 4. E-TFIST: 12-14 May 2026. E-TFIST is for AR staff noncommissioned officers (SNCOs). This course orients AR SNCOs to their roles and responsibilities to effectively serve as reserve integrators in support of the Total Force Marine Corps, in addition to being subject matter experts in their primary military occupational specialty. 5. S-TFIST Symposium: 26-27 August 2026. Registration is open for all AR Colonels, AR Colonel-selects, AR Chief Warrant Officer-5s, and AR Master Gunnery Sergeants. RA will provide funding for all AR Colonels and Colonel-selects. In addition, RA will provide funding for one Marine from each Marine Expeditionary Force, Marine Forces Reserve Staff, 4th Marine Division, 4th Marine Aircraft Wing, 4th Marine Logistics Group, and Force Headquarters Group. Additional Marines can attend utilizing unit funding or virtually via Microsoft Teams. This training symposium provides Service-level updates on Total Force integration requirements, policy, and initiatives, as well as a forum for senior AR officers and enlisted to discuss program-level topics. 6. Applications will be submitted via the organizational mailbox at [email protected] or the POC listed in this message in accordance with the following timelines: 6.a. FY26 B-TFIST Session 1: NLT 1 September 2025. 6.b. FY26 B-TFIST Session 2: NLT 15 February 2026. 6.c. FY26 A-TFIST: NLT 1 April 2026. 6.d. FY26 E-TFIST: NLT 1 April 2026. 6.e. AR Colonels, AR Colonel-selects, AR Chief Warrant Officer 5, and AR Master Gunnery Sergeants will be contacted via separate correspondence to attend the FY26 S-TFIST Symposium. 7. The class sizes for Basic TFIST, A-TFIST, and E-TFIST are limited to 25 students per course and registration approvals will be prioritized on a first-come, first-served basis. Should requests exceed the respective maximum class size, RA will prioritize attendance based upon respective AR officer or AR SNCO billet assignments. 8.
