GALLAHAN/CAPT/MAFCE-OPS O/TEL: COM 703-432-6466/ EMAIL: [email protected] or [email protected]// GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  The Martial Arts and Fitness Center of Excellence (MAFCE) will commemorate the 25-year anniversary of the Marine Corps Martial Arts Program (MCMAP) this fall in Quantico, Virginia from 6 to 10 October 2025  by hosting a recertification and technique symposium (training exchange) to equip the Fleet Marine Force with the revised Tan through Black Belt MCMAP Syllabus and new free sparring events. The new syllabus encompasses refinement, removal, and addition of techniques that provide more tactically informed techniques, striking packages, and a variety of different martial arts theories and concepts.  The recertification and technique symposium will also include a Keynote Speaker Panel consisting of key leaders who established the MCMAP, and various other MAFCE Directors and Senior Enlisted Advisors critical to the development of the program in order to offer attendees an opportunity to commemorate the storied history of the program while also learning more about its development. 2.  Marines who complete the training technique symposium will be recertified as a Martial Arts Instructor (MAI - 0916) or Martial Arts Instructor Trainer (MAIT - 0917). This certification authorizes the MAI/T to train, test, and certify other MAI/Ts. 2.a. Submit all nominations to the MCMAP Chief, SSgt Cameron, by email at [email protected] or by Microsoft Teams no later than 19 September 2025. The total allocation of seats is 55 students. Submit nominations to the MCMAP Chief with the following information: Name, Rank, Unit, Contact Information, Instructor Certification Status, and Unit Funding Status. 2.b. Marines desiring to attend will have instructor credentials verified in their electronic training jacket in Marine Corps Training Information Management System (MCTIMS). If MAI/T credentials are expired, Marines can submit their credentials and may be allowed to recertify on a case-by-case basis. 2.c. All nominees’ electronic training jacket in MCTIMS must reflect a current 1st Class Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and Combat Fitness Test (CFT). The MAFCE staff will verify PFT and CFT test scores when nominations are submitted.  3. The training technique symposium will convene at the Raider Hall facility and Ramer Gym aboard Camp Barrett, Marine Corps Base Quantico. Participating Marines assigned outside the local commuting area will detach from their respective commands one day prior to the convene date of the symposium and will remain detached for the duration of the event. Marines are responsible for coordinating their own DTS/Travel arrangements. This training event is unit funded.  4.
