Situation. The White House Military Office (WHMO) is soliciting nominations for two vacant Presidential Weather Operator  positions within Presidential Weather Operations. These positions  are critical to providing comprehensive worldwide mission execution forecasts and meteorological watch services for the President, Vice  President, and other key personnel. 2. Mission. Presidential Weather Operators deliver 24/7 weather  forecast support for Principals’ worldwide travel requirements,  conduct vital mission planning weather forecasts, and collaborate  with other Department of War (DoW) weather agencies to ensure  no-fail, worldwide support. Selected Marines will serve in direct  support of the Executive Office of the President and contribute to  the success of White House-directed missions. 3. Execution. 3.a. General Eligibility Guidelines. 3.a.1. Must possess a Primary MOS (PMOS) 6842 – Meteorological and  Oceanographic (METOC) Forecast Analyst. 3.a.2. Must be Corporal (E-4) thru Staff Sergeant (E-6). 3.a.3. Must have two years on their current duty station. 3.a.4. Must possess or be able to obtain a current Top-Secret  security clearance based on a Tier 5 Investigation and be eligible  for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). 3.a.5. Must possess a U.S. citizenship. 3.a.6. Must have extensive experience supporting DoW fixed- and  rotary-wing airlift operations for both domestic and international  missions. 3.a.7. Must have a high degree of maturity, discretion, and  trustworthiness. 3.a.8. Must have unquestionable loyalty to the United States. 3.a.9. Must have satisfactory past and present duty performance. 3.b. Nomination Package Requirements.  3.b.1. Signed memorandum for record from the nominee’s Commanding  Officer verifying the nomination meets the criteria outlined in  references (a) and (b). 3.b.2. Volunteer letter with a personal statement in support of the  nomination. 3.b.3. Completed Certificate of Medical Officer (WHMO Form 2,  revised 1 Jul 22). 3.b.4. Certification of Security Clearance, including details of the nominee’s current clearance status and adjudication history. 3.b.5. SCI Nominee Screening Interview Letter, certifying the  nominee’s suitability for SCI access. 3.b.6. HIPAA Release Form, signed and dated, authorizing the release of medical information for security clearance purposes. 3.b.7. If the Marine has not been adjudicated with a Top-Secret  security clearance based on a Tier 5 Investigation and eligible for access to SCI, they must have a completed Questionnaire for National Security Positions (SF-86), certified within one year of submission, along with all release forms signed and dated within 90 days of  submission. 3.b.8. Professional Resume. 3.b.9. Service Member Master Brief Sheet, including the last five  Fitness Reports. 3.b.10. Submission Process. 3.c.1. All nomination packages must be submitted no later than 01  December 2025 to the METOC Occupational Field (OccFld) Manager and  Specialist, via the link above. 3.c.2. Applicants must use the following naming convention: EDIPI_ LASTNAME_FIRSTNAME_MI_RANK (e.g. 1234567890_SMITH_JOHN_A_CAPT). 3.d. Screening, Selection, and Timelines. 3.d.1. Following an initial records review, the METOC OccFld Manager and Specialist, will conduct interviews via Secure Video  Teleconference (SVTC) and will select (6) nominations to submit to  the Office of Secretary of Defense and the WHMO by their respective deadlines. 3.d.2. All (6) selected nominations will be invited to the WHMO for  a two-day in-person interview. 3.d.3. All Temporary Duty (TDY) funding associated with the WHMO  interview process will be the responsibility of the nominee’s parent command. 3.d.4. WHMO will select (2) highly qualified and exemplary  candidates to serve in these positions. Final selection will be made following the completion of all interviews. Final notifications will be made via MARADMIN. 3.e. Assignment Details. 3.e.1. Tour length: (36) months. 3.e.2. Desired report date: June 2026. Early reporting is authorized and highly encouraged. 3.e.3. Coordination will be made between the PMOS 6842 Monitor and  the METOC Occupational Field Specialist to issue orders to meet the desired report date. 4. Administration and Logistics. 4.a.
