MOORE/MAJ/CMC MMPB-11/-/TEL: DSN 278-3622 EMAIL: [email protected]// POC/CAROLIN CHAVEZ/MSGT/CMC MMPB-11/-/TEL: DSN 278-2765 EMAIL: [email protected]// POC/LANE.BEINDORF/CIV/CMC MMP-20/-/TEL: DSN 278-9361 EMAIL: [email protected]// GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  Purpose.  To announce the FY25 meritorious  promotion allocations for Special Duty Assignments (SDA) for the  first semi-annual period. 2.  Background.  These allocations provide commanders the opportunity to nominate a select number of Marines for meritorious promotion to the grades of Gunnery Sergeant (GySgt) and Staff  Sergeant (SSgt). 3.  Commanders listed below will convene selection boards within their commands to nominate Marines for meritorious promotion by the Commandant of the Marine Corps (CMC).  Marines already selected for the next grade by a regular promotion board are still eligible for meritorious promotion to that grade if their seniority number has not been reached.  Recommendations require endorsement by the  commander and submission via naval correspondense to Enlisted  Promotions Unit (MMPB-11).  Upon review and approval by CMC,  Manpower Management Division (MM), unit diary entries will be  entered by MMPB-11.  Commanders will then prepare certificates of  appointment.  In accordance with reference (b), selected Marines must have at least 24 months obligated service remaining on contract from the date of promotion. 4.  Per reference (c), meritorious promotion allocations for the first semi-annual period are: Command                    SSgt/GySgt  Nominations Due  Date of Rank MCRC (Recruiters)                 56/16         20241202       20250102 TECOM (Drill Instructors)          17/5          20241202       20250102 (Combat Instructors)         14/3          20241202       20250102 MCESG  (Embassy Security Guards)    27/2          20241202       20250102 MCSF  (Security Force Guards)       6/0*         20241202       20250102 *MCSF will have one GySgt allocation for FY25.  The command can use that allocation in either January 2025 promotion or delay until the July 2025 promotions.  Please notify MPP-20 if intent is to utilize the one allocation January 2025. 5.  Submit nominations to [email protected] to include the following: Rank    Name    EDIPI    MCC/Unit    PME Complete    OBS 6.  These allocations are applicable to all Marines serving in the active component and active reserve component. 7.  For questions regarding the distribution and calculation of  allocations, please contact Enlisted Plans Section at  (703) 784-9361. 8.  Release authorized by Major General Ryan S.
