Humanitarian Service Medal (HSM)                6.a.  Hurricane Helene                               29Sep24-20Dec24 6.b.  Hurricane Milton                               09Oct24-20Dec24 Note:  The HSM is approved for U.S. Service members and Reserve  Components (to include the National Guard), who were physically present and provided direct humanitarian assistance to the people of Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia caused by Hurricane Helene or Hurricane Milton. Only one  award is authorized for participation in humanitarian effort during the period of 29 September 2024 through 20 December 2024.  7.  North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Vigilance Medal Note:  NATO Vigilance Medal is hereby authorized for acceptance and  wear by U.S. Service members in accordance with Section 7342 of Title 5, United States Code; Directive 1005.13 and policy contained in DoD Instruction 1348.33. 8.
