G. GEBHART/GYSGT/MCFLP, DC I/EMAIL: [email protected]//  GENTEXT/REMARKS/1. Purpose.  The Marine Corps Foreign Language Program is pleased to announce Sergeant Thomas A. Mash (PMOS 2641), Marine Cryptologic Support Battalion (MCSB), as the Fiscal Year 2024 (FY24) Marine Corps Language Professional of the Year (LPoY), and Marine Forces Special Operation Command (MARFORSOC) as the FY24 Marine Corps Command Language Program of the Year (CLPoY).  2.  Background.  The LPoY and CLPoY awards recognize the contributions of Marine Corps language professional and language capable Marines and Command Language Programs during FY24.  A panel of senior language and intelligence professionals selected Sgt Mash and MARFORSOC from a group of highly competitive nominees from across the total force.  Both awardees will advance to compete for the FY24 Department of Defense (DoD) Language Professional of the Year and Command Language Program of the Year.  3.  Execution.  Sgt Mash and MARFORSOC will be recognized during this year’s DoD Advanced Command Language Program Manager Workshop from 9-10 September 2025, hosted virtually.  The Foreign Language Program will provide the awardees and their units with a Microsoft Teams link prior to the workshop.  Additionally, the Marine Corps LPoY awardee and CLPoY awardee representative will each present a 5-10 minute “best practices” brief to their colleagues during the event.  4.  Direct all questions to MARADMIN POC.//  5.  Release authorized by Lieutenant General M.
