GOZZI/1STLT/CMC (MPE)/TEL:  COM 703-432-9337/DSN 378/ EMAIL:  [email protected]// GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  This MARADMIN aims to solicit nominations for  the 2025 Stars and Stripes Awards, presented by the Career  Communications Group during the 2025 Becoming Everything You Are  (BEYA) Science, Technology, Engineer, and Math (STEM) Conference.   The Stars and Stripes Awards recognize senior leaders across the  joint force in military and government service whose outstanding  mentorship, diversity, and value-based service to the Nation have  contributed to advancing the STEM fields.   2.  The 20th Annual Stars and Stripes event, hosted by the 2025 BEYA STEM Conference, is one of the Nation's largest events honoring  active and retired African American Admirals, Generals, and members of the Senior Executive Service (SES).  This occasion is a crucial platform that promotes the advancement of the STEM disciplines and careers across the joint force, focusing on recognizing current  serving black military and civilian STEM leaders.  The host of the  2025 BEYA STEM Conference is the Career Communications Group, a  non-federal entity wholly independent of the Marine Corps. 3.  Stars and Stripes Awards are a testament to our commitment to  inclusivity and equality. They are open to all Marines and civilian  leaders, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, religion, or sexual  orientation.  This inclusivity reflects our shared values and the  diverse talents contributing to our success.  The BEYA STEM and  Stars and Stripes website contains additional information about the conference and associated awards:  https:(slash)(slash)intouch.ccgmag.com/mpage/bsas_Conference. 3.a.  The Service Military Award.  Nominations for the Service Military Award are limited to those senior officers (O-6 or above) and Staff non-commissioned officers who served with distinction,  supporting the Service's efforts in mentorship, diversity, and  value-based service to the Nation and their service.  Nominees  should have served within commands/agencies with missions to  procure, develop, or employ new technologies and systems.   Additionally, the nominee should personally advocate for advances  in STEM and STEM education and must have proven themselves to be of  exemplary character and outstanding ability. 3.b.  SES Award.  Nominations for the Military Service SES Award  must be a member of the SES who served with distinction, supporting the Service's efforts in membership, diversity, and value-based  service to the Nation.  Nominees should have served within  commands/agencies with missions to procure, develop, or employ new technologies and systems.  Additionally, the nominee should be a personal advocate for advances in STEM and STEM education and must  have proven themself to be of exemplary character and outstanding  ability. 3.c.  The Federal Agency Leadership Award.  Nominations for the  Federal Agency Leadership Award must be GS-14/GS-15 or equivalent members.  Each federal agency across the Department of Defense may nominate individuals whose leadership profoundly impacted their agency's STEM initiatives.  Additionally, nominees should have the potential and expressed desire for further career advancement to the rank of SES.  A nominee's actions should have enhanced their agency's ability to carry out the mission, foster an inclusive culture, increase opportunities for the career advancement of STEM professionals, and receive recognition for effectively  managing a diverse workforce. 4.  Stars and Stripes Award Nominations 4.a.  Nominations must be received no later than 1630 (EST), 28  October 2024.   4.b.  Nominations must be submitted via email to the Marine Corps Outreach Program mailbox: [email protected].  For processing purposes, please ensure the email subject line reads "2025 Star and Stripes Award Nomination ICO (Rank/Name)" and include the nominee's email address, current unit, and phone number. 4.c.  Nominations must include a summary of action of 500 words or  less detailing the nominee's contributions to the STEM field, their  commitment to faithful service, leadership, mentorship, and diversity in the Marine Corps, and the timeframe of accomplishments.   Submissions must include an updated command photo and professional  biography in the package presented to the Stars and Stripes Awards  selection committee. 4.d.  The Culture and Inclusion Branch will announce selectees via  MARADMIN and will coordinate with each selectee for attendance at  the conference. The 2025 BEYA STEM Conference occurs from 13-15  February 2025 in Baltimore, Maryland.  5.  This MARADMIN applies to the Marine Corps Total Force. 6.  Release authorized by Brigadier General David R.
