Career-designated unrestricted officers in the grades of captain through lieutenant colonel, to include captain-selects, may apply for lateral move. 2.b. Officers serving in Joint Duty Assignment List (JDAL) billets are eligible if they complete their joint tour by 1 July 2025. 2.c. Officers fulfilling Commandant’s Career-Level Education Board (CCLEB) or Commandant’s Professional Intermediate-Level Education Board (CPIB) utilization tours are eligible if they complete their 36-month utilization tour by 1 July 2025. 2.d. Officers currently in command are not eligible unless their command tour is complete by 1 July 2025. 2.f. Officers who have not met minimum time on station requirements per reference (b) by 1 July 2025 will be considered on a case by case basis. 2.g. Applicants for lateral move will be notified that selection for a new Primary Military Occupational Specialty (PMOS) may result in permanent change of station orders from their current geographic duty station. Per reference (C), monitors will seek to keep Marines selected for lateral move in the same geographic duty station whenever circumstances allow it. 2.h. In accordance with reference (a), restricted officers will not normally be allowed to laterally move except under unusual circumstances, and then, only to meet the specific grade requirements of that PMOS. 2.i. Officers who do not meet the eligibility criteria listed above may request a waiver. Such requests will be considered based on the needs of the Marine Corps and may be approved at the discretion of Headquarters United States Marine Corps (HQMC) (Manpower Management Division (MM)). 3. Sub-paragraph 3.a. lists PMOSs that unrestricted officers may lateral move from, and sub-paragraph 3.b. lists PMOSs that unrestricted officers may lateral move to. These PMOSs are determined based on current and projected strength levels in each PMOS. Officers desiring to lateral move out of a PMOS not listed in sub-paragraph 3.a. or into a PMOS not listed in sub-paragraph 3.b. may apply. Such requests will be considered based on the needs of the Marine Corps and may be approved at the discretion of HQMC (Officer Assignments (MMOA)). 3.a. PMOS 1702 applicants shall have sufficient time in service remaining prior to retirement eligibility to complete the 72-month cyber service obligation, as stated in paragraph 3.f.
