Due to service wide short falls within the Selected Marine Corps Reserve (SMCR) a Fiscal Year 2025 (FY25) SMCR First Sergeant (1stSgt) Special Promotion Selection Board (SPSB) will convene on Tuesday, 4 February 2025 at 2008 Elliot Road, Marine Corps Base, Quantico, VA, for a period of about 10 days to consider eligible Gunnery Sergeants (GySgts) for selection to 1stSgt. 2. For additional details regarding Marine Responsibilities, Commander Responsibilities, Board Eligibility, Removal from Consideration, and Professional Military Education requirements visit the Enlisted Promotions (MMPB-11) website at https://www.manpower.marines.mil click on “Manpower Management” / “Performance Branch" / “Promotion Section” / “Enlisted" / “Staff NCO Promotions” and “Preparation”. 3. All correspondence submitted to the President of the board must be received no later than 2359, Eastern Standard Time (EST) on 26 January 2025. 4. Details for updating the Marine Corps Total Force System (MCTFS) and Official Military Personnel File (OMPF) are listed on the MMPB-11 website. 5. Additional Board Eligibility 5.a. All SMCR, Individual Mobilization Augmentee (IMA), Limited Tour Active Reserve (AR), Individual Ready Reserve (IRR), and assigned to Extended Active Duty (EAD) recruiting GySgts are eligible, however only those Marines whose most recent fitness report has an "F" in block 8h will be considered for selection. 5.b. Selected Limited Tour AR Marines will have their contracts terminated no later than the first day of the fourth month after their promotion to 1stSgt is effected. Bedran, (703) 784-9100/DSN 278-9100. 6. Component/Category Changes 6.a. Marines are considered based on the category affiliated with at 2359 EST on 3 February 2025. Any changes made between active component to the reserves after this date will not make a Marine eligible for consideration. 6.b. Marines selected who subsequently transfer to the active component prior to their selection number being reached, must submit an exception-to-policy request to RAP-2, copying MPP-20 and MMPB-11, via their chain of command up through the first general officer to retain their promotion selection. If not approved, the Marine's selection will be deleted and they will compete for selection on the next PSB for which they are eligible. 7. The tentative allocations, zones, and PEBD cutoffs are identified below. Marines with a DOR that is earlier than the DOR identified for a zone are eligible for consideration in that zone for that IMOS. When a PEBD is specified, it pertains only to those Marines with the listed DOR. The PEBD is not applicable for determining eligibility of those Marines whose DOR is earlier than the DOR listed.
